    A child’s first introduction to ballet. A friendly and fun class developing rhythm and musicality through movement. Classes are a combination of classical music and nursery rhymes. We use props and each class is lightly themed with a modern tune or two! Parents or carers are required to join in the fun, which is lovely bonding time together.

    Please bring a soft toy as we rock them to sleep at the end of class before our curtsy/bow.

    In this pre-school class, we learn basic ballet steps developing your child’s coordination, musicality

    and concentration skills in an inclusive and non-competitive environment. Children are encouraged

    to explore their imaginations using props and fun music, with each week being lightly themed. They will also dance to classical music and nursery rhymes. Parents or carers are welcome to join if needed or watch from the sides, but must remain on the premises.

    The above classes (Cygnets Pre Level One Ballet - Cygnets Level Four Ballet) become a little more structured as we start to follow the Royal Ballet School training & assessment programme (ATAP). We learn new steps & ballet vocab at each level and discuss technique. We also cover body awareness & conditioning, creative practice including improvisation & choreography. We also learn ballet repertoire whereby each level is given a ballet production to watch and research.

    This class is for adults of ALL ages. Ballet is transformative and such a calm & graceful way to exercise, as well as being so good for the body. We begin class with a warm up, followed by around 30 minutes of barre work. We then continue dancing in the centre and finish up with a couple of gentle Pilates exercises & stretching. Have an hour to yourself to zone out, improve general fitness, core control, posture, balance, flexibility and coordination. You may have danced many years ago and miss it, or you may be a complete beginner, all ages and abilities are welcome!

    Modern is dynamic & fun and really contributes to a well-rounded, versatile dancer. We follow the ISTD syllabus, which is a technical structured class with optional exams.

    A fun, non-syllabus class developing jazz skills such as kicks, turns, jumps and leaps as well as learning routines. Students love dancing to their favourite current music, having fun with tricks and perfecting a sequence they can practice at home.

    Our new contemporary classes are great for the older students to express themselves and explore moving their bodies in new ways. We will be following the Rambert grades - a progressive dance training providing students with the skills and knowledge in contemporary dance to thrive. Embracing an ethos of inclusive dance education which works with the whole person to develop transferable skills, placing the individual at the heart of the learning process.

    Tap is hugely beneficial for musicality & rhythm – it’s almost like playing a percussive instrument with your body! We follow the ISTD syllabus.

    Take your first steps into tap shoes, learning the very basics with Hannah before graduating into Grade One with Tina.

  • Musical Theatre

    These classes are with 2 or 3 teachers depending on the week and we learn excerpts from musicals. We cover dance/movement choreography with Hannah, perfect singing technique with Jen & other singing guest teachers and practice acting & performance skills with Josephine Rogers. We are also very lucky to have our resident Musical Theatre teacher, Emily Shaw who has performed in many West End musicals. The pupils will perform what they have been learning in class twice a year; at Christmas and Summer, sometimes with a live pianist.

    These classes with professional actress Josephine Rogers are invaluable for building confidence for talking in public, as well as developing acting & performance skills. The sessions are very student-led and Jo actively encourages their creativity, drawing out their theatrical ideas.

  • LAMDA

    Professional actor Jen has been teaching LAMDA for over a decade and is super excited to offer group LAMDA tuition to any students who would like to give it a go (no prior experience necessary). Her most recent cohort of students achieved 100% Distinctions so you're in safe hands!

    LAMDA is an exam body who run public exams three times a year for Entry Level and Grades 1 - 8. Exams can be taken in Acting and Verse & Prose. Pupils can take exams either solo or in a duologue or even as a group - we’ll see where the wind takes us! Pupils will learn how to perform a wide range of texts from poems to plays - improving acting and presentation skills and also conversational skills too.

    The class will be capped at 10 students per session, ensuring each child one-on-one teaching time as well as encouraging peer to peer learning.

  • Acrobatic Arts & Acro Dance

    Weekly classes taught by Alanna, a highly qualified gymnastics and dance teacher, these classes build up skills from forward rolls, balancing, partnering, cartwheels, handstands, headstands to walkovers, aerials and more! Acro Dance is a perfect, fun mix of acro and jazz/modern techniques. This is a great class to develop ‘tricks’ which are now a much needed skill as a dancer or performer. The classes are also really good at developing stamina, strength and flexibility.

    This class is designed for students who already take one of our RBS ATAP classes during the week and would like a second weekly ballet class. We work on different learning objectives each term and the class is structured according to the dancer’s needs. Each class is capped at 8 students.

    All classes are priced as follows with the exception of private lessons, musical theatre (which has its own specially written production, 2-3 teachers plus pianist) & LAMDA (which is a very small class);

    Note: We offer a multi-class discount per family;

    2 classes = 5%

    3 classes = 10%

    4 classes = 15%

    5 classes = 20%

    6 classes = 25%

    7 classes = 30%

    8 classes = 35%

    Our multi-class discount is capped at 35%.

  • Payment Details

    Children can attend an initial free trial class.

    Adults can pay for their first class as a ‘one-off’ to ensure they enjoy it, before committing to the term.

    After your first class, please email Hannah to confirm whether you would like to enrol for the remainder of the term. An invoice will be emailed to you with details on how to pay. We run in line with school terms but finish a little earlier at Christmas and Summer and start a little later in January and September. Anyone is welcome to join at any stage throughout the term. We cannot issue refunds for any unattended classes.

    We invoice every half term (5-7 weeks) which are sent 1-2 weeks before the start of term and payment is due by the first day of the new term.

    If you wish to discontinue a class, notice must be given by the last week of term (for the following term), otherwise you will be invoiced for the term.
