Thank you for trusting Cygnets To Swans with some information about you and/or your child(ren). We would like to assure you that we take that trust seriously and we want you to know how we use your information and why.

 

Who is holding your information?

The information you have given to us is kept by the teachers at Cygnets To Swans, this is only relevant information such as names, address, email address, emergency phone numbers and medical issues. We do not permit copying or sharing information and actively monitor for any potential breaches.

Where do we get data from?

We only hold data provided to us by you, initial information is collected when enrolling with the school. We may also collect data that is emailed to us by you. Once collected it is transferred onto our main database. We only keep data that is necessary to run the school in an efficient manner.

Where is your data stored?

We use mainstream packages for record keeping, email and accounting etc. We have picked mainstream suppliers with appropriate security standards.

  

Do we share your data?

We never sell data we hold. Your information/advice is held in the strictest confidence. We are aware that confidentiality is paramount, and any sharing of data is a breach of data regulations.

What are cookies and how do you use them?

Cookies are text files that websites place on your own computer to store information specific to you. The CTS website may use cookies to automatically collect personal information about visitors to the site. This information is used solely for admin purposes to monitor levels of usage of the web site. This site also includes links to third party sites, we do not control these sites, and we encourage you to read the privacy statement of every site you visit.

Taking, storing and using images of students

Certain uses of images are necessary for marketing CTS on our website and social media (Facebook and Instagram). Parental consent is taken when you enrol with CTS and complete the T&C’s/registration form. We may also print images onto physical flyers. 

If consent is given for a still or moving image of your child to be used for any of the external marketing purposes, please be informed that these are public domains and can be viewed by anyone. Should an image be used in any marketing publication, website or social media site there will be no use of names alongside images.

 

How long do we retain your data?

We will keep and update records for as long as your child dances at CTS. 

 

Want to see what we hold on you?

Under the new regulations you have the right to know what information we hold on you. Simply send us an email and we will download what we have (or send screenshots) and send it to you. If you believe we have information we should not be keeping, or it is out of date or otherwise wrong, please let us know and we will take appropriate action.

 

Do you have a complaint?

If you have a complaint about the way we are handling your information or how we have responded to a request for information or data removal, please let us know. If we find we are unable to reach an agreement, please feel free to contact the Information Commissioner.
